Building His Dream Furniture Company to Build Your Dream Furniture
Following retirement from his executive recruiting firm, Sheldon Myeroff founded Chagrin Valley Custom Furniture as a vehicle to express his love and passion for furniture making. He had a vision for his new company - one that has remained its guiding light while growing into one of the premier custom furniture companies in America: "Build one piece of furniture at a time. Build it to be the best and most creative piece it can be". Sheldon searched for the right team to support his vision - designers, artists, woodworkers, and carpenters. Today, the CVCF team pushes one another to go above and beyond what they expects of each other to create furniture that is above and beyond what our clients expect. An accomplished draftsman, Sheldon designs furniture the old-fashion way - with a drawing table, a pencil, a protractor and compass, a straight edge, and, most important, an imagination that informs the furniture design that finds its way onto the sketchpad in front of him. Watch this video to see how Sheldon grew and nurtured Chagrin Valley into the company it is today.
A Natural Talent with Natural Materials
A native Clevelander, Zach Schulte started his career as a carpenter and home renovation woodworker in Oregon, where he developed a close bond with the land and its precious resources. Returning to Cleveland to become Chagrin Valley's Shop Foreman and VP of Operations, Zach brought with him his love and respect for the natural materials that go into the custom furniture crafted by CVCF. People working in the U.S. furniture design industry are not surprised that CVCF focuses on building modern eco-friendly epoxy resin furniture made with natural materials and sustainably sourced live edge wood slabs. Under Zach's direction, CVCF furniture designers are constantly testing limits and trying out new furniture designs and radical furniture construction techniques. The custom furniture that Zach designs in 2022 are the subject of many frequent posts on social media websites such as Instagram, Facebook and Pinterest. Read more about Zach here.
Looking to the Future for Inspiration
CVCF designers not only understand how the direction of the American furniture industry is developing, they are actually causing the American furniture market to change with their trendy furniture designs. The charge into the future of furniture is led by Sky Ironhorse, a graduate of the prestigious Cleveland Institute of Art. Her degree is in Industrial Design with a focus on products and furniture design. At CVCF, she juggles several responsibilities. She experiments with new styles of epoxy resin pours, develops new product ideas based on today’s consumer and the latest and hottest furniture trends, and creates beautiful furniture renderings and 3-D modeling for CNC designs. Sky's intimate knowledge of furniture industry design trends and her ability to meet the specific needs of clients has helped set CVCF apart. Sky is a furniture design history buff and draws an immense amount of inspiration from some of the most famous and iconic furniture designers of the 20th century. Read more about Sky Ironhorse here.
The Big Guy With the Big Ideas
Eric Goodfellow Graduated from St. Ignatius with Zach Schulte
When it comes to designing upscale furniture for discerning clients who want top-of-the-line custom furniture, CVCF designers such as Eric Goodfellow have no boundaries. Prior to joining the CVCF family, Eric pursued a career in woodworking and home remodeling. Now reunited in our workshop with high school friend Zach Schulte, together they combine their superb woodworking and carpentry skills in the creation of unique epoxy resin river tables and high end custom epoxy resin and wood furnishings. Though we've featured only four of our designers/builders on this page, we couldn't have acheived the success we've acheived without our talented team, including Brandon Watts (woodworker and certified arborist), Hank Schulte (father of Zach and former high school industrial arts teacher), Rich Fedor (cabinet maker), Eldon Watts (materials engineer/woodworker), and Ed Johnson (woodworker par excellence and our administration and shipping/logistics manager).
