About Faux Painting

Faux painting is used to give your furniture the appearance of marble, wood, stone, or other material by simulating its textures and colors. Hence the name “faux”, French for “false”.

About Distressing

Distressing furniture is a popular finishing technique that makes a piece of wood furniture look aged and weathered. We achieve this by giving the wood many variations of finishes and effects that add interest and a vintage beauty to your furnishings.

About Chalk Painting

Chalk painting gives furniture a distressed look while adding texture and depth to the wood surface. Unlike other paints, chalk paint will cover wood furniture without stripping the current sealant. However, it often requires expert sanding and fill, especially if it’s an older piece.

About Crackle Finishes

A crackle finish gives a piece of furniture the appearance of aged metal patina. In this technique, multiple finish applications result in splitting and blistering and a dramatic multilayer depth to the wood surface.

To learn about other types of finishes we do, call Shel Myeroff at 440-591-5511 or email him at shel@chagrinvalleycustomfurniture.
